It’s getting sweaty, eh. The solution? Beers, beers, lots of beers provided by the Third Imbeer China International Craft Beer Festival. This year’s event once again takes place at the China International Exhibition Center (near Carrefour in Sanyuanqiao) on Saturday and Sunday (Jul 7-8), 10am-6pm, and is organized by beer outlet Imbeer.

The event will include 62 vendors slinging approximately 100 different brands of beer. There’ll also be new beer launches, beer-related lectures, performances, and interactive games with prizes (see beer pong below). The best part? It’s absolutely free to enter but works on a token system: 12 vouchers cost RMB 150 or get three for RMB 50 (buy ahead of time online here; different beers require varying numbers of vouchers).

We also spoke with the Imbeer team ahead of the event, who said: “it’s nothing dramatically different from the previous two years, we just have several stages to provide performances.” How about the beers, anything special? “There will be over 200 beers; most of them are the basic, but there are several outstanding ones, from Firestone, Ballast Point from America, and Behemoth from New Zealand.” Most of the foreign options will be represented by distributors.

Those with adventurous tastes will want to try the cheese beer (IPA topped with rose, matcha, or sea salt-flavored cheese); as an unashamed cheese-tea lover, I can’t wait to gulp this one down. Other personal, more conventional, recommendations would be beers from Knee Deep, Great Divide, De Molen, ToØl, Pohjala, and Behemoth.
